5 Floors | 19 Apartments | Status: Occupied since 2017 | Project Type: Preservation | Architect: Amnon Bar-Or

In the Heart of a Historic and Vibrant Neighborhood amidst a lively historic district filled with artisan shops, cafés, and a bustling nightlife, a stunning and architecturally striking preservation project—The Yellow Building—was constructed on the Nahalat Binyamin pedestrian street.

Project History

The original building was designed by architect Y.C. Tabachnik in 1921. In the new building, new apartments were constructed "within" the space created by demolishing the old structure, and between the original facades and ceiling sections that were preserved through complex and unique preservation work.

Execution Challenges of the Project

The execution of the project – the building's location on a pedestrian street with no vehicle access made the work complex. In addition to the need to build apartments in the basement, we were required to suspend the existing structure to allow for excavation and construction beneath it – a highly complex and challenging engineering and execution process.
